About this pink lemonade with vodka
Picture this: condensation beading down a chilled cocktail glass, ice cubes clinking, and that gorgeous blush-pink hue catching summer afternoon light like liquid sunshine. This isn’t just a cocktail—it’s rose-tinted summer sunshine, bottled and ready to sip.
The first taste hits your palate with bright, zesty citrus flavors that instantly wake up your palate, quickly followed by a whisper of tart berry sweetness; then comes the effervescent lift of tiny bubbles dancing across your tongue, before it all settles into a clean, smooth vodka finish. It’s the kind of delightful balance that will make you close your eyes and sigh: it’s just sweet enough to feel like a treat, tart enough to stay interesting and crisp, effervescent enough to be refreshing, boozy enough to put a little pep in your step, and light enough that a second glass feels less like a decision and more like a forgone conclusion.
Beyond the sparkling flavor, this cocktail is a familiar crowd-pleaser for all the right reasons: it comes together in mere minutes with just 4 ingredients—no fancy bartending tools necessary. Whether you reach for store-bought pink lemonade or whip up a fresh pitcher, the cocktail results are always the same: a gorgeous, guest-ready drink that tastes like the best parts of summer, poured right into your glass.

Ingredients for pink lemonade drink with vodka
As promised, you’ll only need four items for this vodka lemonade drink (along with some ice and garnishes). Here’s what you’ll need:
- Vodka. Lends a clean, neutral base that lets the lemon flavors shine. While any brand of this distilled spirit will work, I’m partial to Grey Goose, Belvedere, and Titos; but use whatever smooth, mid-range brand you love.
- Pink Lemonade Vodka. Made with a blend of lemon, strawberry and raspberry flavors, pink vodka lemonade is easy to find at most liquor stores for a reasonable price (around $6.50). Substitutions: Citrus vodka, lemon vodka, strawberry vodka, raspberry vodka, or a blend of two.
- Pink Lemonade. Gives sweetness, citrus notes, and the signature blush color. Be sure to grab all-natural juice; not the pink lemonade concentrate stuff. Simply Lemonade, Snapple, Swoon and Minute Maid are some of my favorite brands. But you can also make it yourself—there’s a recipe for homemade pink lemonade in the notes section of the recipe card below. Swaps: Lemonade with raspberry will be the closest swap; however, you can use regular lemonade too.
- Lemon Lime Soda. Lightens the drink with a crisp edge, adds a hint of citrus, and provides refreshing effervescence. I typically use Sprite; but any brand will do. Substitutions: Club soda, sparkling water, and seltzer water are fine too.
- Ice Cubes. Essential for keeping the pink lemonade with alcohol cold, crisp, and beautifully refreshing.

Recipe variations
While I love this pink vodka drink as is, there are plenty of ways to make it your own. Below are a few ideas to inspire:
- Deeper Pink and Fruitier Twist. For a tarter, more fruit-forward flavor, and deeper pink hue, add a little cranberry juice or pomegranate juice.
- Extra Citrusy Version. Swap out the regular vodka for citrus vodka and add fresh lime and lemon juice for. Brighter, citrus-forward drink.
- Berry Blush Lemonade Cocktail. Muddle fresh strawberries and/or raspberries before adding the liquid ingredients for extra berry flavor.
- Vodka Lemonade. If you prefer a mellow yellow beverage to a pink one, swap out the pink lemonade for regular lemonade.
- Orange Strawberry Lemonade. Trade out the pink lemonade vodka for strawberry vodka lemonade and use orange juice instead of pink juice.
- Frozen Pink Vodka Lemonade. Blend the cocktail with ice for a slushy and boozy pink lemonade drink.
- Tropical Pink Lemonade. Swap out the regular vodka in favor of coconut rum for a vacay-ready, beach-y cocktail.

Professional chef expert tips for perfect results every time!
As a professionally trained and restaurant-experienced chef, here are my top secrets for success when making this pink lemonade with alcohol:
- Start with Quality Ingredients. The vodka and pink lemonade are the backbone of this drink, so be sure to use quality-brands. A smoother vodka will create a cleaner finish and a quality-brand or homemade pink lemonade allows the fruit flavor to really shine.
- Chill All Ingredients. Cold ingredients reduce the need for excess ice, which dilutes the drink.
- Add Carbonation Last. Stir the lemon-lime soda into the cocktail just before serving to preserve the bubbles.
- Make it Your Way. The best part about making cocktails at home is playing mixologist and making your own rules. If you prefer a stronger booze, swap in tequila. If you’re feeling like a tropical vacation, add coconut rum. Or, if you prefer a sweet er drink, add a splash of agave or simple syrup.
- Taste and Adjust It. Lemonades can vary greatly in sweetness and acidity, so be sure to taste and adjust with sparkling lemon lime soda if necessary.
- Choose the Right Ice. Cubed ice will create a slightly stronger drink and crushed ice will enhance the texture—choose wisely. And, if serving in a pitcher, add ice to the glasses, versus the pitcher, to keep the drink bright and subtly strong.
- Serve in a Chilled Glass. Enhance the presentation and keep the vodka lemonade cocktail cold all at the same time.
- Garnish with Intention. A great cocktail looks as inviting and polished as it tastes. A slice of fresh lemon or lemon wheel, a whole strawberry or raspberry, and/or a sprig of mint will enhance both the aroma and the visual appeal.
- Scale for a Crowd. This pink lemonade cocktail recipe multiplies seamlessly for pitchers and batching for parties.
FAQs: frequently asked questions
Below you’ll find the most common questions and answers about making this pink lemonade with alcohol recipe. If you have a question you’d like answered, please drop it in the comments section below!
What vodka works best?
Truthfully, that depends upon your personal preferences. However, I recommend using a smooth, mid-range vodka to make this drink. Tito’s and Ketel One work perfectly. Or you can go with Grey Goose if you prefer a premium brand. And as for the pink lemonade vodka, I like Pink Whitney, but Smirnoff works as well.
Can I use homemade pink lemonade?
Yes, you absolutely can. Homemade pink lemonade will provide a brighter citrus flavor and also lets you control the sweetness. I’ve included a recipe for homemade pink lemonade in the notes section of the recipe below.
Can I use frozen pink lemonade concentrate?
Sure, however you’ll need to make adjustments to the cocktail recipe since most concentrates contain high fructose corn syrup, which makes them much sweeter in taste. I recommend diluting the concentrate with more water and then adjusting the sweetness of the cocktail with fresh lemon and/or lime juice.
What can I use instead of pink lemonade?
You can use regular lemonade, lemonade with cranberry juice, sparkling pink lemonade, or even lemon-limeade depending on the style and taste you want.
Can I make it less sweet?
This cocktail shouldn’t be very sweet; however, you can absolutely make it less sweet. Simply top off the drink with a little sparkling water or be sure to use unsweetened pink lemonade if you don’t like any sweetness in your cocktail.
How strong is this pink lemonade cocktail?
Truthfully, that depends upon your personal tastes. However, I think this pink lemonade with alcohol is a “medium” cocktail, falling somewhere between “light” and “strong”. But, you can easily adjust the drink by playing with the ratios of vodka to pink lemonade and lemon lime soda.
Can I serve this by the pitcher?
You betcha! This pretty in pink cocktail scales easily, making it my go-to for parties. Plus, it looks gorgeous when batched and served in a pitcher or beverage dispenser with fresh lemon wheels and whole raspberries.

Bright, refreshing, perfectly customizable, and effortlessly beautiful too, this pink lemonade with alcohol is pure joy in a drink glass. Between the subtle berry sweetness, vodka smoothness, and lively citrusy effervescence, it’s a cocktail that’s easy enough for casual evenings at home, yet elegant enough for gatherings, and guaranteed to become a favorite addition to your drink menu.
Whether you keep it classic, make it bubbly, or experiment with making it a frozen concoction, I hope you give it a try and make it your own! But don’t forget to come back and let me know how it went over in the comments below—I truly love cheering you on in the kitchen (and behind the bar)!
Until next time, cheers,
