Hiiiiii friends!!! HAPPY FRI-YAAAAYY!

If you can’t tell, I’m SUPER excited for today.

Not only is tomorrow the weekend (hallelujah), but today also happens to be a SUPA special day.

But I’ll get into that in a minute.

I’m a tease. I know, I know!

First, how has your week been?!

I’m going to be honest, my week has been ROUGH.

Well, if I’m keeping it real, I’ve had a SERIES of tough weeks.

So I’m in DESPERATE need of the weekend.

And a dayum cocktail.

Or 3.

Actually, just make it a pitcher of cocktails. With just one straw. 😉

Naturally (and conveniently), that is EXACTLY what I’m sharing with you today.

The Lucky Shamrock – Sour Apple Tequila Cocktail

Okay, okay… so you are probably thinking Sour Apple?! Tequila?! Ummmm, how exactly is that IRISH?!

Well, they aren’t. 😇

I had every intention of making a cocktail with Guinness, but I REALLY wanted a cocktail with a pretty green hue. So I scrapped the Guinness idea, and figured if you wanted a beer, you could just go pour yourself a tall one.

THIS libation is for all of you out there who want to go GREEN or go home.

Specially crafted by little ‘ole me, this cocktail will make you feel like you have ALL the luck of the Irish. Because, tequila can do that to you. 😉

Sour and sweet with nuances of apple and lime, and a boozy tequila punch, this Lucky Shamrock is refreshing, effervescent and EVERYTHING you should be sipping.

THIS is how you NEED to toast St. Patty’s Day. 🍹

Recipe Notes, Tips & Tricks for Sour Apple Tequila Cocktail:

  1. As with any libation, I highly suggest you make this drink to taste. The recipe below is merely a suggestion. If you want a stronger drink you can 86 the sprite and serve it in a martini glass. If you want a drink more suitable for chugging (I don’t judge), you can serve this cocktail in a highball glass and top it off with a decent amount of sprite.
  2. The agave in the recipe below is optional, but I like how the sweetness offset the sour apple. You can leave the agave out completely, or use more if you like your cocktail on the sweeter side.
  3. I used silver patron tequila and sprite zero in my cocktail, but you can use any tequila and any type of lemon-lime soda you would like.
  4. The wedges of lime and slices of apple are both optional garnishes. However, I liked the extra squeeze of fresh acidic lime in my cocktail. And, the slices of apples give this libation a little pizazz. To get my slices of apples paper thin I used a mandolin.

Until Monday friends, cheers – to a wonderful weekend… and a cocktail or 2.

XOXO

Amazing drink idea! I tweaked this based on what I had on hand and it turned out great! I used 99 apples, 1800 tequila, squirt, and lime juice. Followed your recipe and substituted what I had. Great summer shot/cocktail!

      Hi Kaela,
Converting the recipe for a crowd is really easy. The recipe as written makes 1 cocktail. So, to convert it you just multiply each ingredient by the number of people you are trying to serve. I’d convert it for you, but “a crowd” isn’t a number I can use in a conversion. Taking a shot in the dark with the number of people, if you were looking to serve 10 the recipe would be as follows:

      15 oz Tequila
      15 oz Sour Apple Liqueur
      10 oz Lime Juice
      5 oz Agave (optional)
      Sprite, to taste

      Hope that helps!! Cheers!

Are you good at conversions by chance? I am not good at math haha but I want to make a huge pitcher of this for a crowd! Any idea how I would do that?

Such a super fun one for St. Patrick’s Day! I’m selfishly glad you didn’t go with the Guinness drink cause this one is much more my style – and so purty 😉 I hope your weekend was super relaxing and included lots of these fun Irish foods and drinks and that this week treats you much better! XO

Sad to hear that your weeks have been rough as of late Chey. . .but it’s those rough weeks that make us stronger and remind us that we really need to cherish the good times. Hoping that things turn towards the positive for you in the near future.

In the meantime, I say have a couple of these beauties. Personally, the color alone cheers me up. It’s such a gorgeous shade of green. And the flavor. . .well they just sound refreshing.

I love that beautiful green color, and I happen to love sour apple. I’d much rather drink this on St. Patrick’s Day than green beer, you better believe it! lol Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend Cheyanne!

Even though this fancy cocktail might have nothing to do with the Irish things, it sounds wonderful, Chey (I do like sour combinations). Besides, it’s pretty much GREEN. I think it’s enough:) Also, you can always have some mint Bailey’s on a side:)

Now these cocktails….i have no words to describe how much I want to drink them all – I havent had a drink in two weeks trying to be good but I think my attempt at sobriety is done with now thanks to these! Sour apple is like one of the best cocktail flavours. How do you make your cocktails look so beautiful and drinkable!

My week has been crazy. I’ve been working nonstop until I pass out at night. It’s a great thing, but also a little stressful. I’m sorry to hear you had a rough week. Next week will be better for both of us, I can feel it in my bones. Whoop Whoop it’s cocktail time! I stopped drinking appletinis years ago so I haven’t had that tasty Sour Apple Liqueur in awhile, and I’ve never had it paired with Tequila. Love this Cheyanne.

This cocktail is lovely, and you and I were on the same wave-length! I did a pretty pale green cocktail as well. Brown just isn’t as pretty right? I’ll have to add your Lucky Shamrock to my “to do” list! Happy St. Patrick’s Day Cheyanne!
