Notes
Turbinado sugar is golden cane sugar crystals. It can be found in the baking aisle with the other sugars of most major grocery stores.
Goat cheese is mild in flavor and pairs well with just about any sweet or savory jam. I used pear preserves and cranberry jelly in the goat cheese appetizers shown. Don’t feel limited to just jam though! Preserves, jellies, marmalades and jelly-like sauces all work with goat cheese. Below are a few of my favorites, but feel free to use what you have on hand or a combination of your personal favorites!
To Freeze Phyllo Cup Appetizer:Prepare the appetizer according to the recipe instructions, but do not bake them. Store the prepared appetizers in an airtight, freezer-safe container in the freezer for up to one month. When ready to use, do not thaw the phyllo cups or they will become soggy. Bake from frozen at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-14 minutes or until cups are golden and crisp.
